Plombières (plôNbyĕr´) or Plombières-les-Bains (–lā-băN), village, Vosges dept., NE France, in the Vosges Mts. It is a fashionable spa, with radioactive springs used since Roman times for medicinal purposes. Housewares and embroidered goods are also made there. Plombières was the scene of a meeting (1858) between Napoleon III and Cavour, which resulted in the cession of Savoy and Nice to France.
