Eriphyle
Eriphyle (ĕr´Ĭfī´lē), in Greek legend, wife of Amphiaraüs and sister of Adrastus. She forced her husband into the battle of the Seven against Thebes when Polynices bribed her with the magic necklace of Harmonia. She later forced her son Alcmaeon into the war of the Epigoni when Thersander, son of Polynices, bribed her with Harmonia's magic robe. When Alcmaeon learned the full truth of his mother's treachery, he killed her.
