KATZ, YISRAEL (1955–)
, Likud Party member of Knesset. Born in Ashkelon in 1955, Yisrael Katz received a bachelor of arts degree from Hebrew University. First elected to the Knesset in 1998, he served on several committees, including Finance, Constitution, Law and Justice, and Foreign Affairs and Defense. In February 2003 he was appointed minister of agriculture and rural development.
