St Moritz
St Moritz Winter-sports centre and tourist resort, on Lake St Moritz, e Switzerland, at an altitude of 1822m (5980ft). The site of the 1928 and 1948 Winter Olympics, it is the home of the Cresta Run. Surrounded by the peaks of Corvatsch (3303m/10,837ft), Nair and Corviglia, St Moritz is also noted for its curative mineral springs. Pop. (2000 est.) 5600.
