Original name, Byron Chan; born January 1967 (some sources say 1966), in Hong Kong; immigrated to the United States; son of Phillip (a dentist) and Trudy (a nurse) Chan; married, August 2002. Education: University of California, Los Angeles, B.A. (magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa), philosophy; University of Southern California Law School. Avocational Interests: Martial arts.
