Business and Transactional Law Center Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially assist Washburn University students with their education. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Applicants must be admitted to Washburn Law; and must have an interest in business law or transactional law. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the quality of all application materials submitted.

Funds Avail.: Maximum of $15,000 per year. To Apply: Applicants must attach a 1-2 paragraph description of interest, background or qualifications related to the scholarship specific area.

Child and Family Advocacy Fellowships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially assist Washburn University students with their education. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Applicants must be admitted to Washburn Law and must pursue careers in child and family advocacy. Criteria: Award is given based on the application materials.

Funds Avail.: Maximum of $14,000 per year. To Apply: Applicants must attach a 1-2 paragraph description of interest, background or qualifications related to the scholarship specific area.

Judge Delmas C. Hill Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially assist Washburn University

students with their education. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Applicants must be admitted as full-time students in Wash-burn Law; must be in the top ten percent of the class; and must have a 2.5 GPA. Criteria: Award is given based on the application materials.

Funds Avail.: Full-tuition and a stipend of $2,000 per year. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicants must submit a statement showing: the reason for interest in the law as a profession; public and community service activities; leadership activities; and potential for leadership.

Koch Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially assist Washburn University students with their education. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Applicants must be admitted as full-time students in Wash-burn Law; must be in the top ten percent of the class; and must have a 3.0 GPA. Criteria: Award is given based on the application materials.

Funds Avail.: Full-tuition for three years of law school; student fees; and a stipend of $6,000 for the first year of law school and $3,000 per year in the second and third years. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicants must submit a statement showing: the reason for interest in the law as a profession; public and community service activities; leadership activities; and potential for leadership.

Pittsburg State University Distinguished Graduate Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help defray some of the costs of a legal education for a Pittsburg State University student elected to attend Washburn Law. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Applicants must be PSU students admitted to Washburn Law. Criteria: Award is given based on merit.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: PSU applicants admitted to Washburn Law will be automatically considered.

Polsinelli Diversity Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially assist Washburn University minority students with their education. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Applicants must be incoming first-year minority law students. Criteria: Award is given based on merit.

Funds Avail.: $7,500. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicants admitted to Washburn Law will be automatically considered.

Shamberg Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially assist Washburn University students with their education. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Applicants must be admitted to Washburn Law. Criteria: Selection is based on academic achievements and leadership potential.

Funds Avail.: Full-tuition and a $1,000 stipend. Number Awarded: 3.

Remarks: Students admitted to Washburn Law will be automatically considered.

J.L. Weigand, Jr. Legal Education Trust Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote excellence in legal education and to encourage the most scholastically qualified students whoare long term Kansas residents to remain in or return to Kansas to practice law. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Applicants must be admitted full-time to Washburn Law; must be in the top ten percent of the class; and have been a legal resident of Kansas for at least ten years prior to their admission to law school. Criteria: Selection is based on merit.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants admitted to Washburn Law will be automatically considered.
