Utility Workers Union of America Scholarship Program (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To identify and honor exceptionally able high school students; to provide a system of services for corporations, foundations, and other organizations that wish to sponsor college undergraduate scholarships for outstanding students who interest them. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be high school students who are sons and daughters of active members of UWUA; must be a U.S. citizen and have a permanent residence in the United States. Criteria: Recipients will be selected based on academic record throughout high school, significant activities and contributions to the school community, test scores, recommendations, and the student's essay about personal characteristics, activities, plan, and goals.

Funds Avail.: $500-$2,000. To Apply: Applicants must fill out the application form; must take the PSAT/NMSQT; must obtain a copy of the Official Student Guide to the PSAT/NMSQT from the high school counselor and make arrangements with the school to take the PSAT/NMSQT. Deadline: December 31.
