Nancy Lorraine Jensen Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote the heritage and the culture of Norway. To encourage young women to enter the field of science and engineering. Focus: Science; Engineering. Qualif.: Applicant must be an American citizen not younger than 17 and not older than 35 on the date the scholarship application is submitted. Applicant must be a current female member or the daughter or granddaughter of a current member of the Sons of Norway, and have held such membership for at least three years duration, on the date the application is submitted. Applicants must be full-time undergraduates who have completed at least one term (quarter, semester) of her studies. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on their long-term career goals and clarity of their study plan; academic potential and evidence of ability to succeed; and letters of recommendation giving specific evidence of good character, eagerness, earnestness and ambition in the field of science and engineering.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. Number Awarded: 3. To Apply: Applicants must submit an application form. Applicants must send SAT or ACT scores; a 500-word essay giving proof of their accomplishments and describing how they intend to pursue their career; sealed, official copy of their latest grade transcript; and three sealed letters of recommendation. Deadline: April 1.

Sons of Norway Foundation Scholarships to Oslo International School (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students who attend Oslo International Summer School. Focus: Engineering; Science. Qualif.: Applicants must be admitted to Oslo International Summer School. Applicants must be current members of the Sons of Norway, or the children or grandchildren of current members. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need, their essay, GPAand letters of recommendation.

Funds Avail.: $1,500. Number Awarded: 2. To Apply: Applicants must submit an application form; essay; letters of recommendation. Deadline: March 1.
