Description:

State-supported, 2-year, coed. Part of Alabama College System. Awards certificates, diplomas, transfer associate, and terminal associate degrees. Founded 1979. Setting: 30-acre small town campus with easy access to Birmingham. Educational spending 2003-04: $2710 per student. Total enrollment: 5,778. Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 19:1. 3,081 applied, 100% were admitted. Full-time: 3,533 students, 58% women, 42% men. Part-time: 2,245 students, 58% women, 42% men.
