Description:

Independent, comprehensive, coed. Awards bachelor's and master's degrees. Founded 1833. Setting: 440-acre small town campus with easy access to Cleveland. Endowment: $550 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $14,807 per student. Total enrollment: 2,827. Faculty: 286 (266 full-time, 20 part-time). Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 10:1. 5,824 applied, 40% were admitted. 67% from top 10% of their high school class, 85% from top quarter, 96% from top half. 36 National Merit Scholars, 47 valedictorians.
