Anne O'Hare McCormick Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to aspiring journalists to pursue their careers. Focus: Journalism. Qualif.: Applicants must be journalists attending Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism; must be citizens of the United States and have financial need. Criteria: Selections are based on the trustee's estimate of each candidate's ability, determination to succeed, and potential for a career in journalism.

Funds Avail.: $5,000. Number Awarded: 2. To Apply: Application form must be print or type clearly. Applicant must submit the list of job-related experience, with dates of employment; must have a brief statement of financial resources, including needs for tuition and living expenses during the academic year; must have two letters of recommendation that focus on the applicants qualifications for the field of journalism; must prepare an autobiographical essay mentioning family, educational background, journalistic experience and goals; must have one or two examples of the applicant's writing.
