Independent Roman Catholic, comprehensive, men only. Awards bachelor's, master's, and first professional degrees (only candidates for the priesthood are admitted). Founded 1887. Setting: 75-acre rural campus with easy access to Portland. Total enrollment: 178. 15 applied, 73% were admitted. Students come from 14 states and territories, 10 other countries, 60% 25 or older. Retention: 88% of full-time freshmen returned the following year. Core. Calendar: semesters. Academic remediation for entering students, ESL program, advanced placement, part-time degree program, adult/continuing education programs, graduate courses open to undergrads.
