Iowa Library Association Foundation Scholarships (Graduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist outstanding students who are pursuing a graduate degree in school library studies at the University of Northern Iowa. Focus: Library Sciences; Information Science and Technology. Qualif.: Applicants must have been fully admitted into the graduate program in school library studies at the University of Northern Iowa and enrolled continuously for three semesters of study. Applicants must have at least a 3.25 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for their undergraduate program of study or previous graduate studies of at least 8 credit hours. Criteria: Recipients will be chosen based on demonstrated academic excellence, potential to become a successful librarian, evidence of the ability to work well with others, and demonstrated communication skills. Selection shall be made solely on the basis of stated criteria without regard to sex, creed, race, national origin.

Funds Avail.: $1,000 in 2008. To Apply: Applicants must accomplish proper completion and filing of the application form (available online) and submit along with three letters of recommendation from persons working in the library science/information science field. Criteria: Applicants will be evaluated based on academic excellence, potential to become a successful librarian, ability to work well with others, and demonstrated communication skills.
