Description: Independent, comprehensive, coed. Awards associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Founded 1972. Setting: 40-acre suburban campus with easy access to New York City. Total enrollment: 1,145. Faculty: 110 (57 full-time, 53 part-time). Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 13:1. 535 applied, 51% were admitted. 5% from top 10% of their high school class, 25% from top quarter, 45% from top half. Full-time: 962 students, 29% women, 71% men. Part-time: 40 students, 55% women, 45% men. Students come from 10 states and territories, 7 other countries, 0.4% Native American, 17% Hispanic, 17% black, 2% Asian American or Pacific Islander, 1% international, 10% live on campus. Retention: 74% of 2003 full-time freshmen returned. Academic areas with the most degrees conferred: business/marketing; visual/performing arts; education. Core. Calendar: semesters. Costs Per Year: Application fee: $25. Comprehensive fee: $22,800 includes full-time tuition ($13,200), mandatory fees ($600), and college room and board ($9000). Room and board charges vary according to board plan and location. Part-time tuition: $550 per credit.
