Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund Scholarships (Other/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to civilian employees of the US Federal Government. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be civilian federal and postal employees with at least three years of federal service and their dependent family members (children and spouses) are eligible to apply during their senior year in high school; employee (may be part-time students; dependent must be full-time); enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited post secondary school in a course of study that will lead to a two-year, four-year or graduate degree; and must have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Recipient will be selected based on academic merit.

Funds Avail.: $500 to 2,500. To Apply: Applicants must submit complete academic record, including fall semester grades, recommendation (character reference), list of extracurricular and community service activities, and essay. Deadline: March 28.

FEEA Scholarship Program (Other/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to civilian employees of the US Federal Government. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be current civilian federal employees and their dependent family members (spouse/child); adult children and other relatives are eligible if claimed on the sponsoring employee's tax return; active duty military members and their dependents are eligible only through a sponsoring civilian employee spouse; military retirees and dependents are eligible if the retiree (or retiree's spouse) is a current civilian federal employee; must have at least three (3) years of civilian federal service by August 31, 2008; must be at least a college freshman by the fall 2008 semester; must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) unweighted on a 4.0 scale; current college freshmen must have a minimum 3.0 GPA for the fall 2007 semester; must be current high school seniors or college students working toward an accredited degree and enrolled in a two or four year undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate program; dependents must be full-time students; and federal employees may be part-time students. Criteria: Applicants will be judged by Scholarship Committee.

Funds Avail.: $5,000. Number Awarded: 6. To Apply: Applicants must submit FEEA Scholarship Application Form; essay; written recommendation/character reference, transcript, list and briefly describe awards, extracurricular and community service activities, copy of ACT, SAT or other examination scores, copy of most recent standard form 50 “notice of personnel action”, and two self-addressed, stamped, No. 10 business-size envelopes with first class postage properly affixed. Deadline: March 28.
