Description:

Independent Roman Catholic, comprehensive, coed. Awards associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Founded 1928. Setting: 32-acre suburban campus. Endowment: $6.4 million. Research spending 2003-04: $53,003. Educational spending 2003-04: $8729 per student. Total enrollment: 932. Faculty: 110 (59 full-time, 51 part-time). Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 12:1. 454 applied, 88% were admitted. 15% from top 10% of their high school class, 45% from top quarter, 70% from top half. Full-time: 605 students, 78% women, 22% men. Part-time: 187 students, 89% women, 11% men. Community Environment:

Elms is located in western Massachusetts, two and one half miles from Springfield, near the junction of I-91 and I-90 (Mass. Turnpike). The climate is temperate. The community has several churches, museums, a library, theatre, sports center, cultural and social events at many of the nearby colleges, shopping, and major civic, fraternal, and veteran's organizations. Part-time employment is available.
