Endowment Fund for Education Grants (Undergraduate/Grant)

Purpose: To promote and assist study and research in the field of biological communication. Focus: Biological and clinical sciences. Qualif.: High school students and students currently enrolled in their freshman year at a university or college are not eligible for grant funds. Applicants who are currently enrolled in sophomore, junior and senior years must present documentary evidence to demonstrate that they are in good academic standing for

all courses directly related to their major. Criteria: Fund Committee will evaluate the complete applications. Selection of applicants will be based on the merit and availability of funds.

Funds Avail.: $500 or less. To Apply: Applicants must submit the following documentation: (1) Current curriculum vitae; (2) A full and complete statement of what the applicant/applicants intend(s) to accomplish within the field of biological photography; (3) Time frame for the project; (4) Details of how the project will benefit biomedical communications and biocommunicators as a whole, and of how this will be measured; (5) An agreement to provide the EFFE Committee with a final report describing the results of the project and its impact on biocommunication; (6) Description of plan to share the resulting educational benefits with the BCA membership; (7) An agreement that the BioCommunications Association, Inc., shall have the right of first publication on any results from project funded wholly or partially from the Endowment Fund for Education. Deadline: April 25.

Endowment Fund for Education (Loan) (Undergraduate/Loan)

Purpose: To promote and assist study and research in the field of biological communication. Focus: Biological and clinical sciences. Qualif.: Applicants must be high school students or students currently enrolled in their freshman year at a university or college; must present documentary evidence to demonstrate that they are in good academic standing for all courses directly related to their major (for sophomore, junior and senior years of high school). Criteria: Fund Committee will evaluate the complete applications. Selection of applicants will be based on the merit and availability of funds.

Funds Avail.: $500 or less. To Apply: Applicants must submit the following documentation: (1) Current curriculum vitae; (2) A financial statement; (3) High school graduates applying for a loan to be used as tuition for the freshman year must present documentation to assure the EFFE Committee that they are in good academic standing for their full senior year. Application forms are available online. Deadline: April 25.

Endowment Fund for Education (Loan/Grants for Equipment) (Undergraduate/Grant)

Purpose: To promote and assist study and research in the field of biological communication. Focus: Biological and clinical sciences. Qualif.: High school students and students currently enrolled in their freshman year at a university or college are not eligible for grant funds. Applicants who are currently enrolled in sophomore, junior and senior years must present documentary evidence to demonstrate that they are in good academic standing for all courses directly related to their major. To Apply: Applicants must submit the following documentation: (1) A complete description of each piece of equipment; (2) The life expectancy of each piece of equipment; (3) The role each piece of equipment will play in the education of biocommunicators; (4) The number of students who can be expected to benefit from the equipment; (5) The total cost of the equipment; (6) The intended supplier of the equipment; (7) An agreement to provide the EFFE Committee with reports at six and twelve months after installation stating how the equipment has been used to benefit the education of biophotography students. Deadline: April 25.

Endowment Fund for Education (Loans/Grants for Educational Materials) (Undergraduate/Grant)

Purpose: To promote and assist study and research in the field of biological communication. Focus: Biological and clinical sciences. Qualif.: High school students and students currently enrolled in their freshman year at a university or college are not eligible for grant funds. Applicants who are currently enrolled in sophomore, junior and senior years must present documentary evidence to demonstrate that they are in good academic standing for all courses directly related to their major. Criteria: Fund Committee will evaluate the complete applications. Selection of applicants will be based on the merit and availability of funds.

To Apply: Applicants must submit the following materials: (1) A complete description of the materials to be purchased; (2) Information about where the materials will be housed and who is to be responsible for their security; (3) Details on how the materials will be made available to the students; (4) The life expectancy of the materials; (5) The relevance of the material to biophotography; (6) The number of students who will use the materials; (7) The total cost and supplier of the materials. Deadline: April 25.
