Howard E. and Wilma J. Adkins Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to individuals interested in pursuing a career in welding engineering. Focus: Welding. Qualif.: Applicants must be undergraduate students pursuing a four-year bachelors degree in welding engineering or welding engineering technology; must be 18 years old and above; must have a minimum of 2.5 overall grade point average; must be a citizen of the United States; and must plan to attend an accredited engineering school within the United States. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need, career work experience, and extracurricular activities.

American Welding Society International Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to international students who wish to pursue their education in welding and related joining technologies. Focus: Welding. Qualif.: Applicants must have completed at least one year of welding or related fields of study at a Baccalaureate degree-granting institution; must be full-time students; and must be U.S. or Canadian citizens. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need and academic standing.

Funds Avail.: $2,500. To Apply: Applicants must submit a copy of the proposed curriculum; verification of enrollment to the institution; two letters of personal reference; two-page professional goal statement with a brief bibliography; transcript of grades or equivalent from each college; proof of country of citizenship; AWS membership number, if member; and financial information regarding tuition fees from the academic institution. American Welding Society Past Presidents Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to individuals interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree in welding

engineering, welding engineering technology, or an engineering program with an emphasis in welding. Focus: Welding. Qualif.: Applicants must be junior, senior, or graduate level students pursuing a degree in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology. Criteria: Recipients will be selected based on financial need.

Funds Avail.: $2,500. To Apply: Applicants must complete the application form and submit it along with one or more recommendation letters from community members, local AWS officers, and/or AWS district directors attesting to the applicant's leadership capability; and a 300-500 word essay on the applicant's objectives and aspirations in the field of welding.

American Welding Society Research Fellowships (Postgraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To advance opportunities for students preparing for a career in the welding and related joining technologies. Focus: Welding. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduate students who wish to pursue areas of research related to the welding and joining industry. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic standing.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a financial statement; transcript of records; personal statement; biography and photo. Deadline: March 1.

Arsham Amirikian Engineering Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to individuals interested in pursuing a career in either welding engineering or the application of the art of welding in civil and structural engineering. Focus: Welding; Civil Engineering. Qualif.: Applicants must be undergraduate students pursuing a bachelors degree in civil engineering or welding related degree at an accredited university; must be 18 years of age or above; must have a minimum of 3.0 grade point average; must be citizens of the United States; and plan to attend an accredited engineering school within the United States. Applicants must have a minimum of 3.0 grade point average throughout the academic year. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Jerry Baker Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to individuals interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree in welding engineering, welding engineering technology, or an engineering program with an emphasis in welding. Focus: Welding. Qualif.: Applicants must be undergraduate students pursuing a four-year bachelors degree in welding engineering or welding engineering technology; must be 18 years of age or above; must be full-time students as defined by the academic institution; must have at least a 2.8 overall point average with a 3.0 grade point average in engineering courses; must be citizen of the United States or Canada; and plan to attend an institution located within the United States or Canada. Jack R. Barckhoff Welding Management Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to individuals interested in pursuing a career in welding engineering. Focus: Welding. Qualif.: Applicants must be college juniors pursuing a four-year bachelors degree in welding engineering at the Ohio State University; must be 18 years old and above; must have a minimum of 2.5 overall grade point average; must be a citizen of the United States and plan to attend an accredited engineering school within the United States; must be enrolled and must complete the two-hour credit course in Total Welding Management at the Ohio State University. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the financial need.

Applicants must also submit a 300-500 word essay on how they see their role once they have graduated in improving the world of welding and the welding industry in the United States, and how they plan to use their education to improve the US competitive position in welding and manufacturing. Hypertherm International HyTech Leadership Scholarships (Postgraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to individuals interested in pursuing a career in welding engineering. Focus: Welding. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduate student pursuing an advanced degree in engineering management within the welding and cutting industry; must have completed a Bachelor of Science degree or be in the final year and has been accepted for graduate work in engineering management at an accredited graduate school; must have graduated within a minimum overall grade point average of 2.8.
