Nordic Ski Association of Anchorage Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage scholastic performance, crosscountry skiing, and participation in community ski activities. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be Alaska residents who are high school seniors or currently enrolled college students; must be members of the high school cross-country ski team during their junior and senior years and must have individual or family memberships in the NSAA; and must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Preference will be given to students attending college in Alaska. Applicants will be selected based on their academic performance and application materials.

Funds Avail.: $1,500. To Apply: Application forms are available at Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage, 203 W 15th Ave., No. 204, Anchorage, AK 99501. Applicants must have a letter of recommendation, list of personal achievements and honors, a brief statement describing any community service, a maximum 500 word essay on the “benefits you have received from skiing”, and a copy of official transcript from all high school or university work. Deadline: April 1.
