Neo-Picturesque
Neo-Picturesque. Revival of elements of the Picturesque in Britain in the 1940s, particularly associated with the retention of ruins after war-time bombing (e.g. Spence's Coventry Cathedral (1950) ). In this sense it is, perhaps, somewhat absurd, and a corruption of the C18 meaning.
