German Order
German Order. Type of C18 British Corinthian Order, the volutes replaced by winged lions and unicorns and the fleuron superseded by the Crown. Its incorporation of Royal emblems led to its association with the House of Hanover, hence its name, but it was also called the Britannic Order.
