EDIFACT An international standard, ISO 9735: Electronic Data Interchange For Administration, Commerce, and Transport, giving the application-level syntax rules for messages between companies concerning orders and services. It superseded EDIF (electronic data interchange format), the interim standard format for messages about company orders and purchases. See also electronic data interchange.
