vitelliform degeneration
vitelliform degeneration (Best's disease) (vy-tel-i-form) n. degeneration of the macula of the eye that is inherited as a dominant characteristic and usually starts in childhood. There is widespread abnormality of retinal pigment epithelium (see retina) with the accumulation of a yellowish material, especially in the macular area.
