nystatin (nis-tă-tin) n. an antifungal drug used especially to treat yeast infections, such as candidosis. It is formulated, often in combination with other drugs, as a cream or ointment for skin infections, as tablets or a suspension for oral and intestinal infections, or as pessaries or suppositories for vaginal or anal infections. Trade name: Nystan.
