hydrogel dressing (hy-droh-jel) n. a dressing consisting of a gel in the form of a sheet or an amorphous mass that can take the shape of the wound. Such dressings can be used for lightly exuding or granulating wounds but are not suitable for infected or heavily exuding wounds.
