diazoxide (dy-ă-zok-syd) n. a vasodilator drug used to lower blood pressure in the emergency treatment of patients with hypertension and also used to treat conditions in which the levels of blood sugar are low. It is administered by mouth or (for hypertension) injection. Trade name: Eudemine.
