SIDELIGHTS:

Hermann Sautter told CA: "There are two things that particularly influence my work. The first is the experience of international diversities of culture, political systems, and economic successes. The second is an ethical interest, rooted in my Christian faith.

"By writing, the most surprising things I have learned is that I clarify my own thoughts. Of my books, Weltwirtschaftordnung: Die Institutionen der Globalen Ökonomie is my favorite. In my conviction, 'globalization' needs an 'order' that is a set of institutions which are able to direct accountable individual actions taken all over the world toward results which are acceptable from an ethical point of view."
