OBITUARY NOTICE—See index for CA sketch: Born April 22, 1917, in Warsaw, MO; died of internal bleeding as the result of a head injury from a fall May 4, 2005, in Newport Beach, CA. Religious leader and author. The wife of evangelist Oral Roberts, Evelyn Roberts was a trustee at Oral Roberts University and helped her husband run his television ministry. She at-tended Northeastern State College in Oklahoma and Texas College of Arts and Industries during the 1930s, but did not complete a degree. Instead, she married in 1938 and devoted her life to helping her husband with his ministry and raising eight children. In addition to serving as university trustee and working on the television program, Roberts worked as a marriage counselor for many years. She was the author of several books, including His Darling Wife, Evelyn: The Autobiography of Mrs. Oral Roberts (1976), Heaven Has a Floor (1979), and Evelyn Roberts' Miracle Life Stories.
