(cum laude), 1981; Georgia State University, M.A., 1982; Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada, Ph.D. (philosophy), 1986; University of Pittsburgh, Ph.D. (history and philosophy of science), 1996.

Berry College, Rome, GA, assistant professor of philosophy, 1989-90; University of Houston Clear Lake, Houston, TX, began as associate professor, became professor of philosophy, 1996—.
