Meshel is also the author, with Doug Garr, of One Phone Call Away: Secrets of a Master Networker. The book explains Meshel's intimate knowledge of networking, which he acquired while building his successful businesses. Meshel and Garr discuss the art of networking with an emphasis on guiding the reader through stumbling blocks, such as shyness, and on providing a step-by-step approach to developing a strong and successful business network. The authors include interviews with other successful people who have developed strong networks of business and other associates. Susan Hurst, writing in the Library Journal noted that the work "encourages readers to further their careers by making the best use of their time and personal contacts."
