SIDELIGHTS:

Sylvia Day is the author of romance novels and cofounder of Passionate Ink, the erotic romance chapter of Romance Writers of America. Day's stories include varying levels of erotica. Her Bad Boys Ahoy! is a collection of three connected novellas set in the Regency period.

Ask for It finds Marcus Ashford, Earl of Westfield, pursuing the now-widowed Elizabeth, Lady Hawthorne, who jilted him in favor of her late husband, Lord Hawthorne. A diary left behind by him proves to contain a threat to Elizabeth's life, and Marcus feels that by convincing her that he is the one she should turn to for protection, he will more likely be able to win her favor. John Charles reviewed the novel for Booklist, noting its "sizzling passion and dangerous drama."

Charles also reviewed The Stranger I Married, the story of a marriage of convenience between Lady Isabel Putnam and Gerard Faulkner, Marquess of Gray- son. The unconsummated marriage is interrupted when they are separated for four years, and when he returns, he is no longer interested in a marriage based only on friendship. Charles described this Regency as being "boldly passionate, scorchingly sexy."
