SIDELIGHTS: Vicky E. Burkholder told CA: "I have a vivid imagination and love to take people to other worlds and other possibilities. 'Just imagine' is a favorite phrase of mine. My influences have been many, from Shakespeare to Heinlein; from the Greek tragedies to Dean Koontz. When I write for myself, I lose myself in the story. When I write for others—be it a technical manual or policies and procedures manuals—I try to be as succinct as possible while still getting the information across. I am best at breaking difficult concepts down to their basic levels and building from there so that a person who is new at their job can pick up my manual and be able to get through their first day with as few problems as possible."
