Weidinger, Anton
Weidinger, Anton, Austrian trumpeter; b. Vienna, June 9, 1767; d. there, Sept. 20, 1852. He was trained in Vienna, and after service in regimental bands, he became a member of the Vienna Court Orch. in 1792; later mastered the keyed trumpet and gave many concerts in Vienna. In 1803 he toured Germany, France, and England as a virtuoso. Haydn wrote his Trumpet Concerto for him.
