Tudoran, Ionel, Romanian tenor; b. Baragtii de Vede, June 24, 1913. He studied at the Iasj. Cons. He made his operatic debut as Roland in Ziehrer’s Landstreicherin 1936 in Iaşi, then sang with the Cluj Opera (1937-48) and the Bucharest Opera (1948-63); also made guest appearances in Prague, Leipzig, Berlin, Dresden, Moscow, and other music centers. He retired in 1963 and taught voice at the Bucharest Cons. until 1972. His finest roles were Don José, Faust, and Cavaradossi.
