Truscott, Harold (b Ilford, 1914; d 1992). Eng. writer and composer. Worked for Royal Mail until 1948. Contrib. to various mus. periodicals, championing Brian, Schmidt, Medtner, Pfitzner, and other unfashionable composers. Wrote book on Beethoven's late str. qts. (1968). Taught pf. and comp. Blackheath Cons. and lect. at Huddersfield Tech. Coll. Comp. sym., 3 vn. sonatas, and 17 pf. sonatas.
