Tannenberg, David
Tannenberg, David, German-American organ builder; b. Berthelsdorf, Upper Lusatia, March 21, 1728; d. York, Pa., May 19, 1804. He went with a group of Moravian church colonists to Bethlehem, Pa., in 1749. He was assistant to the organ builder Johann Gottlob Klemm (1757-62), and then active as an organ builder on his own, moving to Lititz, Pa., in 1765, where most of his organs were built; also made some clavichords and virginals.
