Schrøder, Jens, Danish conductor; b. Bielsko, Poland, Nov. 6, 1909; d. Âlborg, Aug. 10, 1991. He studied at the Prague Academy of Music. After conducting in various Danish cities, he was chief conductor of the Municipal Theater (1942–75) and the Sym. Orch. (1942–80) in Âlborg; he also was a guest conductor with the Danish Radio Sym. Orch. and the Royal Danish Orch. in Copenhagen. In 1980 he was made a Knight of the Dannebrog Order (first Grade) for his services to Danish music
