Robin, Mado
Robin, Mado , French soprano; b. Yseures-sur-Creuse, near Tours, Dec. 29, 1918; d. Paris, Dec. 10, 1960. She studied voice with Giuseppe Podestà. She then began her career as a concert artist, making her operatic debut in 1945 as Gilda at the Paris Opéra. She also sang at the Opéra-Comique, and made guest appearances in Brussels, Liège, and San Francisco. She was best known for her performances in the roles of Lakmé and Lucia.
