Ristenpart, Karl , German conductor; b. Kiel, Jan. 26, 1900; d. Lisbon, Dec. 24, 1967. He studied at the Stern Cons. in Berlin and Vienna. In 1932 he became conductor of the Berlin Chamber Orch.; also led concerts with the Radio Orch. in Berlin. In 1946 he was named conductor of the Chamber Orch. of RIAS (Radio in the American Sector of Berlin). In 1953 he became conductor of the Chamber Orch. of RIA S(R a noted inthe of the Saarland Radio in Saarbrucken; made many tours and recordings with this group.
