Prendcourt, “Captain” de
Prendcourt, “Captain” de , organist, harpsichordist, teacher, and composer who flourished from 1686 to 1705. He was a page of honor at the court of the Elector of Saxony before being called to England by King James II to serve as Master of the Children in the Chapel Royal (1686–88). Thereafter he was active as a harpsichord teacher. He wrote a treatise on harpsichord playing and thoroughbass and composed 4 harpsichord sonatas.
