Olevsky, Julian
Olevsky, Julian , German-born American violinist; b. Berlin, May 7, 1926; d. Amherst, Mass., May 25, 1985. After studies in Germany, he went with his family to Buenos Aires (1935), where he made his debut at age 10; then settled in the U.S. (1947), becoming a naturalized American citizen (1951). He made his N.Y. debut at Town Hall (1949), and then toured as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber music player. He taught at the Univ. of Mass, in Boston (1967–74), and then in Amherst.
