Noetel, Konrad Friedrich

Noetel, Konrad Friedrich, German composer; b. Posen, Oct. 30, 1903; d. Berlin, April 9, 1947. Following training in engineering and law, he studied music in Hannover and Königsberg. He completed his studies with Hindemith at the Berlin Hochschule für Musik, where he subsequently was on the faculty (1936–47). Noetel’s works were in a late Romantic idiom. He composed a Sym., Suite for Chamber Orch. (1934), Concerto for Flute, Violin, and Strings (1942), Konzertmusik for Strings (1944), Concerto for Flute, Oboe, and Strings (1947), chamber music, choral pieces, and songs.
