Neruda, Johann Baptist Georg (actually,Jan Křtitel Jiří)
Neruda, Johann Baptist Georg (actually,Jan Křtitel Jiří), Czech violinist and composer; b. probably in Rosice, c. 1707; d. Dresden, c. 1780. He received training in Prague, after which he played in a theater orch. there, becoming a member of the Dresden court orch. in 1750; he later was its Konzertmeister. He wrote the opera Les troqueurs, 18 syms., many concertos, trio sonatas, and church music.
