Navas, Juan (Francisco) de
Navas, Juan (Francisco) de, Spanish harpist and composer who flourished in Madrid from 1659 to 1709. He was a musician in the royal chapel by 1659, and a subordinate maestro de capilla there by 1683. He wrote numerous secular works, including some interesting Pasacalles with guitar accompaniment. He also contributed Act 2 to the 3-act zarzuela Apolo y Dafne, and likewise wrote some sacred music.
