Morton, Robert
Morton, Robert , English composer; b. c. 1430; d. c. 1476. He was a priest; served as clerc (1457–71 or -72) and chappellaine (1457–76) at the Burgundian court chapel choir. Only 8 of his secular works are extant; his songs N’aray je jamais mieulx que j’ay and Le Souvenir de vous me tue were widely disseminated in his day. A Atlas ed.
