Morton, Lucy (1898–1980)

English swimmer. Born on February 23, 1898; died on August 26, 1980.

In 1924, England's Lucy Morton won a gold medal in the 200-meter breaststroke at the Paris Olympics with a time of 3:33.2. Agnes Geraghty of the United States came in second, while Gladys Carson of Great Britain placed third. American women won all of the swimming gold medals in 1924, except for the event won by Morton.
