Leúz, Jess García
Leúz, Jess García, Spanish composer; b. Olite, Navarre, Jan. 10, 1904; d. Madrid, Feb. 25, 1953. He was a cantor in Olite before pursuing his studies in Pamplona, and later received training from del Campo (composition) and Balsa (piano), and finally from Turina (composition), his most significant influence. Leoz’s output included zarzuelas, a ballet, orch. pieces, chamber music, piano pieces, songs, and film scores.
