Leduc, Pierre (le jeune)
Leduc, Pierre (le jeune), French violinist and music publisher, brother of Simon (l’aîné) Leduc; b. Paris, 1755; d. the Netherlands, Oct. 1816. He received training in violin from his brother. In 1770 he made his debut at the Concert Spirituel in Paris, and thereafter performed there regularly. In 1775 he founded his own music publishing firm, which brought out works by many French composers of his day. His son (Antoine-Pierre) Auguste Leduc (b. Paris, 1779; d. there, May 25, 1823), took control of the firm in 1803.
