Laschi, Luisa

Laschi, Luisa, Italian soprano; b. Florence, c. 1760; d. c. 1790. She made an acclaimed debut in Vienna on Sept. 24, 1784, in Cimarosa’s Giannina e Bernardone. On May 1, 1786, she created the role of the Countess in Mozart’s Le nozze de Figaro in Vienna. That same year, she married Domenico Mombelli, and thereafter sang with him frequently. She appeared in the first Viennese production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni on May 7, 1788, but later that year she and her husband were dismissed from court service
