Kümmerle, Salomon
Kümmerle, Salomon, German organist, teacher, and editor; b. Malmsheim, near Stuttgart, Feb. 8, 1838; d. Samaden, Aug. 28, 1896. He was an organist and teacher in various German towns before taking positions in Nice (1861–66) and Samaden (1874–90). He ed. the valuable Encyklopädie der evangelischen Kirchenmusik (4 vols., 1888-95), and also ed. the vocal collections Grabgesänge (1869), Musica sacra (1869–70), Zionsharfe (1870–71), and Choralbuch für evangelische Kirchenchore (1887–89).
